What is Chiropractic Care?

Chiropractic is a health care profession with a focus in dysfunctions of the musculoskeletal system. Chiropractic care is most often used to improve physical function or treat back pain, neck pain, and headaches but can also be used to improve function or treat pain in the joints of the arms and legs, the jaw, and many other parts of the body. Doctors of chiropractic or chiropractic physicians receive an extensive education to practice a drug-free, hands on approach to health care. Chiropractors have the training and skills to diagnose health conditions, provide rehabilitative exercises, nutritional advice, and lifestyle counseling. When chiropractic care is not the best treatment for a given condition, chiropractors may refer patients to the appropriate health care provider. In some cases chiropractors co-manage your care with other members of your health care team.

The chiropractic adjustment

The chiropractic adjustment is a therapeutic procedure performed by providing a controlled impulse into a joint that has become hypomobile (restricted in movement) with the goal of restoring normal joint movement. Chiropractic adjustments are safe and gentle for every member of your family.
